I don’t know about you, but I like to take the opportunity to layer clothes whenever I head to Baguio.

Not that there’s a lot of dimension going on in this outfit. It’s a no-brainer formula: I simply tossed a cardigan, a top, and a pair of trousers on. I wore this to a balikan trip to Β Baguio–we traveled there to attend my younger sister’s graduation at UP. With such a simple agenda ahead, I didn’t want to pack or fuss with a lot of layers.

What I did instead was to wear prints on prints. It’s a quick styling trick when I want to bring things up a notch even when I’m working with basic silhouettes or outfit formulas. I love how the patterns of my cardi and my trousers enhanced each other in this get-up! (My trousers are actually a crop style, but I only stand at 5’0″–so that’s how crop bottoms fly with me.)

Footwear was not an afterthought (and, mind you, should never be!). I donned a pair of black lace-up flats to finish my outfit with. I’m a huuuge fan of the S/S 2016 lace-up trend. They totally lend drama to classic ballerinas flats, IMO. I can see myself wearing these shoes for seasons to come!

Cardigan: H&M – V-neck Shirt: Bench – Crop Trousers: Mango – Shoulder Bag: Zalora – Lace-up Flats: Tutum – Necklaces: Forever 21 and H&M – Watch: Michael Kors
